Self-employed lending
1. What self-employed lending options are available?
We offer both Full Doc and Alt Doc residential lending options for self-employed borrowers, with flexible pathways depending on how the customer can verify their income.
2. What is Full Doc?
Full Doc is for self-employed applicants who can fully verify their income. Borrowers can provide one year of company or trust tax returns, one year of personal tax returns and the corresponding Notice of Assessment, none older than 21 months.
3. What is simplified self-employed verification?
For company directors, we may be able to use three months of salary credits and the last financial year ATO income statement to verify income.
4. What is Alt Doc?
Alt Doc is designed for self-employed borrowers who may not meet traditional income verification requirements, or whose tax returns do not reflect their current income. Income can be supported by a self-declaration plus BAS, business bank statements or an accountant letter.
5. How do you assess Alt Doc income?
We look at the customer’s industry, location, business structure, asset position, credit file, repayment history, debt levels and whether the income makes sense for the type of work they do. We also need to understand the loan purpose, benefit, servicing position and exit strategy.
6. Can self-employed borrowers access cash out?
Yes. Cash out is available up to the product’s maximum LVR, subject to policy requirements.
7. Can company debts be excluded from servicing?
Yes. Company debts are not required to be factored into servicing, subject to policy requirements.
8. Can self-employed borrowers consolidate ATO debt or private loans?
Yes. ATO debt and private loans can be considered for consolidation.
