MA Money has announced significant updates to our lending policy, effective from 26 August 2026, increasing borrowing capacity and flexibility across our lending offering.
Among the headline changes, MA Money has increased the maximum loan to valuation ratio (LVR) for Prime Full Doc and Alt Doc loans up to $5 million from 75 per cent to 80 per cent. The maximum loan size for Category 3 locations has also doubled from $500,000 to $1 million.
The policy expansion follows a period of significant growth for MA Money. In MA Financial’s recently released half-year results, MA Money’s loan book reached $7.5 billion at 30 June 2026, up 127 per cent compared with the first half of 2025, and has since surpassed $8 billion.
Our National Sales Manager, Tim Lemon, said the latest changes were part of MA Money’s continued focus on strengthening our broker proposition as the business grows.
“Our growth has given us the scale to continue investing in our products, policy and the support we provide to brokers,” Mr Lemon said.
“We’re seeing more brokers turn to MA Money across an increasingly diverse mix of scenarios, and it’s important that our policy continues to evolve with them.
“These changes are about giving brokers greater scope to find the right solution for their clients, while continuing to deliver the service and credit approach they expect from MA Money.”
The broader update includes changes across Residential, Vacant Land, Bridging, Expat and Commercial SMSF lending, as well as income verification, valuations and credit policy.
Our Head of Lending, Stephen Begnell, said the changes had been developed with a focus on practical lending flexibility.
“We’ve looked closely at where we can make meaningful changes to policy while maintaining a responsible and considered approach to credit,” Mr Begnell said.
“The result is a broad set of updates that will allow us to consider more scenarios and give brokers more options when a deal doesn’t fit neatly within traditional lending parameters.”
